Toothpick Tower Challenge
Buddies paired up to create the tallest tower and then reflect on the year before saying goodbye and happy summer! What a wonderful experience 8th graders and 3rd graders have had with supplies donated by the grant from Haverhill Education Foundation. Thank you!

Self-watering Planters
Students got together in the 8th grade project room for Earth Day. After listening to a reading of Frog and Toad's Garden, students began making their own self-watering seed planters out of recycled plastic water bottles. Third grade buddies took home their planters to observe future growth of the seeds they planted. Great job staying focused and working together!

Puzzle Pieces
For Autism Awareness, students helped each other cut and decorate puzzle pieces that were assembled on the wall to form a special phrase by Dr. Seuss: Why just fit in when you were born to stand out?

Winter Crafts and Cards
Bobcat Buddies visited our room and made different winter crafts and cards. Some made snowmen garland, snowflake trees, or holiday cards for a local teen recently diagnosed with cancer. Wonderful work and great collaboration.

Cereal Box Games
Based on the students suggestions about the many ways to reuse a cereal box, they made their own games. Some students chose to create a maze and marble game, while others constructed sport courts or fields and still others fashioned a toss game. We were amazed at all the wonderful work! Special thanks to the HEF, Haverhill Education Foundation, for granting us the supplies needed for all of our projects this year.

Interactive Bookmarks
Students worked together to create a laminated bookmark for their independent reading books. They decorated one side with a fall-themed illustration while the other side allowed for students to write story elements with a dry erase marker, which was attached to the top of the bookmark with a ribbon. Way to be active readers! Keep up the good work.

Cereal Box Challenge
After Bobcat buddies got a chance to meet each other, they compared nutrition facts on the cereal boxes they brought in. Then they were challenged to think of as many ways they could that a cereal box could be reused or recycled. Great job coming up with so many creative ideas. We will try some of them next time we meet!
